In this example we will show how to display only one clause from list of possible values
When to use? #
You have list of clauses and want to select only some of them.
Main Idea #
Show / Hide variable controls displaying of a block (-s) of text and visible for end user as a checkbox.
Show / Hide Group variable works like wrapper for other Show / Hide variables. For the end user it will look like a drop down with list of values
Prerequisites #
For this example we are using a template for Board Meeting Minutes from this link.
- Download and open document
- Open Templatise Add-in and create new template
Creating Show / Hide Group variable #
Let’s say you want to select which type of announcement has been made during Board Meeting.
- Create variable with title Announcements of type Show / Hide Group.
- Click on + button on Announcements variable to add new child variables.
- It is possible to create only Show / Hide variables inside Show / Hide Group so just specify title General Announcements.
- Select whole text in General Announcements in document and click Connect and Save.
- Do the same with Project Announcements.
- Click on + button on Announcements, set title Project Announcements.
- Select whole text in Project Announcements in document and click Connect and Save.
- Do the same with Policy Announcements.
- Click on + button on Announcements, set title Policy Announcements.
- Select whole text in Policy Announcements in document and click Connect and Save.
Now go to template filling tab and open our template, you can select a single block of announcements:
If you need to be able to select multiple elements – just go to Announcements variable (double click) and check ‘Allow multiple selection’ю
