2 min read

In this example we will show how to display only one clause from list of possible values

When to use? #

You have list of clauses and want to select only some of them.

Main Idea #

Show / Hide variable controls displaying of a block (-s) of text and visible for end user as a checkbox.

Show / Hide Group variable works like wrapper for other Show / Hide variables. For the end user it will look like a drop down with list of values

Prerequisites #

For this example we are using a template for Board Meeting Minutes from this link.

  1. Download and open document
  2. Open Templatise Add-in and create new template

Creating Show / Hide Group variable #

Let’s say you want to select which type of announcement has been made during Board Meeting.

  1. Create variable with title Announcements of type Show / Hide Group.
  2. Click on + button on Announcements variable to add new child variables.
  3. It is possible to create only Show / Hide variables inside Show / Hide Group so just specify title General Announcements.
  4. Select whole text in General Announcements in document and click Connect and Save.
  5. Do the same with Project Announcements.
  6. Click on + button on Announcements, set title Project Announcements.
  7. Select whole text in Project Announcements in document and click Connect and Save.
  8. Do the same with Policy Announcements.
  9. Click on + button on Announcements, set title Policy Announcements.
  10. Select whole text in Policy Announcements in document and click Connect and Save.

Now go to template filling tab and open our template, you can select a single block of announcements:

If you need to be able to select multiple elements – just go to Announcements variable (double click) and check ‘Allow multiple selection’ю
