When to use? #
All scenarios where you need a simple variable that represents a text (single line or multiline), date, time, number or money in different formats. Variable can be connected to more than one place in a document.
How end user see it? #
Text field for simple text, date, number or money. Can have default value.
How to use it? #
- Create variable of type Text, Number, Date.
- Choose format.
- Select text in a document (or click in any place).
If selected text has multiple occurrences in a document, it will appear checkbox with text “Connect NNN similar instances in the document”. - Click Connect.
- Click Save.
Formats #
Variable has 5 formats:
Text #
- Possible to select Multiline option, that will only affect how end-user will see this field while populating template form.
Number, Money #
- Locale field loads other fields values, but they can be overridden manually. Locale field is the same Locale field that was used while creating a template.
- Possible to select Thousands separator, Decimal separator, Decimal scale, Currency symbol (for Money).
Date, Time #
- Locale field loads other fields values, but they can be overridden manually. Locale field is the same Locale field that was used while creating a template.
- Possible to select update formats
