# Visibility Controls

### When to use?

When creating documents that may have optional sections depending on the situation.

### How to create it?

1. **Create a Control Variable:** Use Show / Hide variable type. This variable will determine whether a group of variables is shown or hidden
2. **Create Variables to Control:** Create at least one variable that will be affected
3. **Set Up Visibility:**
   - Go to Visibility Controls tab and press "Create new visibility control" button
   - Enter title (not shown to users)
   - Select the control variable and the variables it affects
4. **Press "Create"**

### How end user sees it?

A group of fields that are visible if a controlling Show / Hide variable is checked.
