# Templates Promotion

While Editor role allows users to update templates in a workspace, it is restricted in many organizations to update templates without approval. So it is normal situation, when workspace has only users with Reader role.

### How to create a promotion request

A **Reader** (or **Editor**as well) can request to create a new template or change an existing one. 

- For this, copy an existing template to your private workspace or create a new one there. 
- In you new template in private workspace click on the 3 dots to the right of the template name and select **Template Promotion. **
- Specify the **New Template’s Name**and the **Department**. Choose whether you want to create a new template or replace an existing one.
- Click **+ Create request**. Your request will appear in the admin’s**Promotion Requests Inbox.** The admin can then approve it. You can also view your **Requests history** in the **Template promotion** tab.
